In the past, many self-employed people or entrepreneurs have claimed economic aid from the German government during the coronavirus pandemic. Whether emergency aid, bridging aid or the new start aid for solo self-employed persons offered since January - the application process is not easy for everyone.
If there are inconsistencies and false statements when submitting an application, you can quickly find yourself accused in preliminary proceedings, e.g. for subsidy fraud, in accordance with Section 264 of the German Criminal Code (StGB). This is an enormous stress factor on top of the already tense economic situation and can further fuel existential fears.
If you are the focus of the public prosecutor's office and are accused of subsidy fraud, please contact us today. We will get in touch with the relevant authorities and work towards the proceedings being discontinued. If charges have already been brought against you or a penalty order has been issued, we will also defend you in court. The case law in the "corona fraud proceedings" is still developing and certainly shows "business-friendly" tendencies. It is therefore worthwhile in any case to be represented by a lawyer both in criminal proceedings and in any pending administrative proceedings in which claims for repayment are asserted.
